PRAGUE, Czech Republic and NEW YORK (August 8, 2023) – Sense Arena, the world leader in virtual reality ice hockey training, today announced a multiyear agreement to launch the first interactive NHL VR platform titled NHL Sense Arena.
Available in Fall 2023, NHL Sense Arena will feature the uniforms and logos of all 32 NHL teams, giving hockey players and fans alike the opportunity to hone their skills and compete as a member of their favorite NHL franchise within the Sense Arena hockey experience.
Launched in 2018, Sense Arena’s ground-breaking VR technology provides a cutting-edge off-ice platform for skaters and goalies of all ages, allowing them to play hockey in confined spaces and non-traditional environments such as basements, garages, hotel rooms and more.
“The NHL has some of the most passionate fans in all of sports and we are thrilled to bring them onto the ice to experience what it feels like to train like an NHL player or goalie,” said Sense Arena Founder and CEO, Bob Tetiva. “This new partnership will allow hockey lovers of all ages to compete against each other in exciting drills while representing their favorite NHL teams.”
Sense Arena, which was recently designated the Official Virtual Reality Training Tool of USA Hockey, is currently used by five individual NHL teams and 14 Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I hockey programs. To date, more than 24,000 individual users across 40 countries have benefited from Sense Arena’s training by participating in more than 2 million drills.
NHL Sense Arenawill be unveiled in Fall 2023 as a successor of the current version of Sense Arena’s hockey platforms. All users, including those who subscribe to Sense Arena for Hockey prior to the NHL launch, will receive the new NHL platform update for free when it premieres in the fall.
